A native plant (american Elderberry) and a fast growing, cold tolerant perennial.  Elderberries are great medicinal berries, that are often used to make health tinctures and syrups.  They have clusters of flowers that turn into dark small berries, that can be harvested and cooked to make a bunch of different things.
